Spell Check on the Fly

I received the tip below from Tamara Dicks and Deepika Rao from Imedex, Inc.  I did not know that there was a way to spell check on the fly without the use of the mouse.  I learn something new every day!

Many of you are using “Spell check on the Fly.”  This feature spell checks your document as you go, and if it comes across an incorrectly spelled word it will be underlined with a red squiggly line.  To retrieve the correct spelling and input it into your document you may feel compelled to reach for your mouse.

There is a key on your keyboard (we’ll call it the menu key) that will access this “right click mouse”  function.  On my keyboard, it is located on the right hand side of my keyboard, between the windows key and the control key (please see the image below).  Please use this key and it will produce the drop down box with the list of possible correct words.  Use your arrow key to navigate to the correct word and hit ENTER.

This key can be used instead of right clicking on your mouse.  This means there you can use the look up feature in AME (see my 4/27/11 post) without using the mouse!
